Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, inspected the ongoing construction of the Luuwa–Bere Road being executed by the Chinese Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC).
The project, which features a bridge linking Luuwa and Bere communities in Khana Local Government Area, is part of the state government’s strategic efforts to improve rural connectivity and stimulate economic growth in agrarian parts of the state. When completed, the road is expected to ease movement, enhance agricultural productivity, and improve access to markets and social amenities for residents of the area.

Governor Fubara, who expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to completing people-oriented projects across the state. He said his government is focused on ensuring that every local government area feels the impact of good governance through the provision of vital infrastructure.

He noted that the Luuwa–Bere Road represents another milestone in his drive to link communities, open up the hinterlands, and promote inclusive development. The governor commended the contractor for maintaining high engineering standards and urged the host communities to continue supporting the project to ensure timely delivery.
Governor Fubara was accompanied on the inspection by the management team of CCECC and the Permanent Secretary of the Rivers State Ministry of Works, Mr. Austin Ezekiel Hart.
