The Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Hon. Charles Wobodo, has reiterated his administration’s unwavering determination not to disappoint the confidence reposed in him by Ikwerre LGA.
Hon. Wobodo stated this while receiving the Esila branch of the Ogbokor Ikwerre Cultural Organization, Worldwide, at his office in Isiokpo.
Wobodo also expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Esila branch of the Ogbokor Ikwerre Cultural Organization Worldwide for monitoring the council’s activities and commended the council on its laudable achievements.
He thanked the group for supporting his administration and assured them that Ikwerre Local Government will be willing to support their programs anytime.
Earlier, Chairman, Esila branch of the Ogbakor Ikwerre Cultural Organization Worldwide, Prof. Stanley Mandah, said the Esila branch of the Ogbakor Ikwerre Cultural Organization Worldwide came to felicitate with the Ikwerre council Chairman, Hon Charles Wobodo, on his development Projects in Ikwerre Local Government.
He also commended Charles Wobodo for his efforts in tackling security challenges in the area.
He further said that the visit is to interact with the council Chairman on the possible way to move the Esila branch of Ogbokor Ikwerre Cultural Organization Worldwide forward.
The visit featured eminent and prominent Ikwerre Sons and Daughters, such as Vice-Chancellor Emeritus, Rivers State University, Prof. Simeon Achinewhu; Former Rector, Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Rumuola, Prof Hillary Wordu; Legal Luminary, Prof. Clusa Dike; Mrs Evelyn Owhorji; Dr. Paul Wohwor, and Chief Edwin Dike.
Others include High Chief Stephen Richard Amadi, Chief L. C Weje, Chief Stephen Okparata, Hon. John Was, and Mrs Joan Aaron.
The rest are Mr. Increase Assor and Hon. John Bull O.
The high point of the visit was the presentation of a trophy won by an Esila son on National wrestling Context to the Ikwerre Council Chairman, and the immediate appointment of the Esila wrestling Champion as S. A. to the Ikwerre Chairman on Culture and Tourism.
