In a new crack-down on this gang, the Rivers State Police Command arrested two suspected members of ‘one-chance’ syndicate which is infamous for its violent nature in the state.
The suspects arrested are 45 year old Uche Samuel from Omunato Local Government Area of Imo State and 42 year old Nkechi Amadi from Nekede, Imo State.
They were picked by operatives of the Command based on the instructions of the Commissioner of Police (CP) Olugbenga Adepoju.

According to the spokesperson of the Police, Blessing Kaborlo on Saturday, the arrest is in line with the continuous effort of the Command towards ridding the state of all forms of violent crime.
The Command stated that the suspects confessed to their crime during the interrogations, while noting that steps are being taken to apprehend other members of the syndicate.
CP Adepoju affirmed that the Command will not relent until all one-chance operations and violent crimes are eliminated in Rivers State.
He made it clear that the ‘one-chance’ operators as well as any other form of criminality will not find safe haven and assured residents that the Police will keep on employing proactive and intelligence-based methods in order to detect, arrest and prosecute criminals.
The Commissioner reiterated that the Command is committed to the protection of people and their properties within the state.
He called upon the citizens to exercise vigilance and assist the security operatives by providing them with credible and timely information to prevent criminal acts and ensure that the culprits are brought to justice.
