The Rivers State Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) has provided ₦1.15 million in financial assistance to 11 patients at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH), Port Harcourt, to help settle their medical bills.
The unit donated on Thursday as part of its humanitarian outreach to support patients struggling to afford healthcare services.
Led by CSP Julian Wealth, the team also visited two children’s homes in Port Harcourt, where it donated food items and other essential supplies to support the children.

The items distributed to each home included three bags of rice, one bag of beans, one bag of garri, cartons of Indomie noodles, baby diapers, tissue paper, and cartons of soap.
The interventions were aimed at reducing the financial difficulties faced by patients and providing necessities for children in the care facilities.
The initiative reflects the unit’s commitment to extending support beyond its core responsibilities by reaching out to vulnerable members of society.
The assistance is expected to ease some of the burdens on the beneficiaries and improve access to essential healthcare and welfare support.
