Stakeholders in Egbeda Community, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, have commended the council chairman, Hon. Chidi Lloyd, for providing and installing solar-powered lighting facilities at the Egbeda Community Health Centre.
The stakeholders described the intervention as timely and people-oriented, noting that a reliable power source would improve healthcare delivery, particularly during night-time emergencies and other critical situations.
Receiving the installation on behalf of the community leadership, the Chairman of the Egbeda Community Development Committee (CDC), Hon. Harmony Obua, praised Lloyd for his continued commitment to improving the welfare and living conditions of residents.
Obua described the chairman as a leader who “knows his onions”, adding that his administration had demonstrated an understanding of the community’s needs through projects that directly benefit the people.

In a statement issued on behalf of the stakeholders, Hon. Humphrey Didi Assor said the intervention went beyond providing electricity, describing it as a development that could help preserve lives and improve healthcare services.
According to the stakeholders, the solar-powered lighting would provide a safer and more conducive environment for healthcare workers attending to patients, especially during emergencies and at night.
They also commended Lloyd for his attention to the developmental needs of communities across Emohua LGA, pledging continued support for his administration.
The stakeholders further called on residents of Egbeda to sustain their cooperation with the local government chairman, stressing that peace, unity and collective responsibility were essential for sustainable development.
They maintained that meaningful progress could only be achieved through collective efforts and urged residents to continue working together in the interest of Egbeda Community and Emohua Local Government Area.
