The Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, has been described as possessing the political capacity and experience needed to reposition Rivers State and restore its pride of place as the Treasure Base of the Nation.
The Eze Oha Evo III of Evo Kingdom, Nyerisi Eli Woji (Eze Woji XII), His Majesty King Prof. Leslie N. Eke, JP, Eze Gbakagbaka, asserted while speaking with newsmen at his palace in Woji Community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Eke said there could hardly have been another person with the experience and understanding required to identify the challenges facing the state and provide practical solutions for its overall development and the well-being of its residents.
According to him, Wike is uniquely positioned to drive development in Rivers State, noting that his antecedents in governance had demonstrated his ability to identify challenges and address them effectively.
The traditional ruler said no leader in the state had pushed more vigorously for better placements and opportunities for Rivers people, both within and outside the country, than Wike.
Eke, who is also Chairman of the Supreme Forum of Ikwerre Government Recognised Traditional Rulers, said Wike’s efforts to promote the interests of Rivers people had extended beyond the boundaries of the state.

He also commended Wike’s performance as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, citing the numerous projects being executed in Abuja as evidence of his commitment to development.
Eke maintained that Wike’s political influence and national engagements had continued to create opportunities for Rivers people, describing his ability to operate effectively at both state and national levels as an advantage to the state.
“Wike is a goal-getter. That is why he is succeeding in his political endeavours. I can say that he is also a workaholic,” he said.
The traditional ruler observed that Wike’s approach to governance and political engagement demonstrated that purposeful leadership required courage, determination and the willingness to take difficult decisions in the interest of the people.
He urged Rivers people to recognise and appreciate individuals whose contributions had positively impacted the state, stressing that the collective interest of Rivers State should remain paramount despite political differences.
Eke expressed optimism that with the right leadership, strategic partnerships and sustained commitment to development, Rivers State could consolidate its position as the Treasure Base of the Nation and attract greater national and international recognition.
