Port Harcourt movie lovers are set to experience the return of one of Nollywood’s memorable action franchises as Issakaba: The Return arrives in the city for a special screening on Sunday, November 8, 2026.
The screening, scheduled to hold at Julirose Hotel & Suites from 4pm, comes ahead of the film’s nationwide cinema release on November 13. Tickets are listed from ₦15,000, with group and family packages also available.
Directed by veteran filmmaker Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen, Issakaba: The Return brings back the story of the popular vigilante group 25 years after the original film made its debut in 2001.
Veteran actor Sam Dede reprises his role as Ebube, the fearless leader of the Issakaba Boys. This time, the character is drawn out of retirement as his community battles a new wave of insecurity, including kidnapping, ritual killings and more sophisticated criminal activities.
The sequel combines familiar faces with a new generation of Nollywood actors, including Chidi Mokeme, Iyabo Ojo, Regina Daniels, Nosa Rex, Chiwetalu Agu, Mark Angel and Phyna.
Beyond the action and nostalgia, the film revisits issues surrounding community security, crime and the role of local participation in protecting communities.
Its return also offers an opportunity for a new generation of movie lovers to experience a franchise that was a major part of Nigeria’s home-video era.
