Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced the introduction of a free delivery service for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, in six locations across Nigeria, while keeping its ex-depot price unchanged at N1,075 per litre.
The refinery disclosed the new initiative in a notice shared on its official X account on Wednesday, saying the service is intended to make product distribution more efficient and improve access for bulk buyers.
Under the arrangement, customers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, as well as Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, Kaduna, and Delta states, will enjoy free delivery on purchases of at least 250,000 litres of petrol.
The announcement comes shortly after the refinery met with stakeholders in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector to discuss the need for cost-reflective pricing of petroleum products. At the meeting, industry players supported further reductions in petrol prices to lessen the burden on consumers.
The free delivery offer also follows the refinery’s latest reduction in its gantry price to N1,075 per litre. The adjustment is the fourth price cut introduced by the company in recent months, reflecting its efforts to make petrol more affordable and improve supply across the country.
Meanwhile, the President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Abubakar Maigandi, said petrol prices at filling stations have fallen by about N125 per litre over the past three weeks.
According to him, motorists now buy petrol at prices ranging from N1,155 to N1,299 per litre, depending on the location and the marketer, a development that mirrors the recent downward price adjustments in the downstream petroleum market.
