Málaga and Deportivo de A Coruña played out a 1-1 draw at the Estadio La Rosaleda as both sides began their LaLiga campaigns with a point.
Málaga started brightly, but Deportivo gradually took control and opened the scoring when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang rounded Alfonso Herrero to score for the second consecutive match.
The hosts responded in the 34th minute after Rafita was brought down inside the box. Chupe confidently converted the resulting penalty to restore parity.

Málaga dominated possession after the break and created several opportunities, with Chupe coming closest when his 76th-minute header struck the crossbar from close range.
Haitam Abaida also threatened with a free-kick, but Deportivo held firm to secure a share of the points. The result extended Málaga’s impressive home run to just one defeat in their last 20 matches.
