The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced that the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination mop-up exercise will take place on June 13, 2026, for candidates who missed the earlier examination due to technical and verification challenges.
JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday, explaining that the exercise is specifically for candidates who were unable to sit the examination conducted between April 16 and 23 despite successfully presenting themselves at their centres.
According to the board, some candidates were affected by technical issues, biometric verification problems, and other examination-related incidents that prevented them from taking the test.
Benjamin described the mop-up examination as the final phase of the 2026 UTME exercise aimed at resolving all outstanding issues involving affected candidates.

He noted that the exercise would provide eligible candidates with another opportunity to participate in the examination process and ensure that no verified candidate is unfairly denied the chance to write the UTME.
The board advised affected candidates to begin printing their Examination Notification Slips from June 6, 2026, in preparation for the examination.
Candidates were also urged to visit and familiarise themselves with their examination centres before the examination date to avoid confusion or delays on the day of the test.
JAMB stressed that no additional opportunity would be provided after the mop-up examination, urging all affected candidates to make adequate preparations ahead of the exercise.
