A nine-year-old boy has been arrested for defiling a one-year-old baby girl in Port Harcourt.
The incident happened at Adelabu Street, Mile 1 Diobu on Monday. The boy is a house help living with the family of the defiled baby.
Our source, Prince Wiro of Civil Rights Council said ‘’I was at the place this morning. The mother of the baby girl said her pastor had told her the boy was possessed of demonic forces.
Prince Wiro also said ‘’I offered to take her to doctors without borders at garrison but she said she wants to take the child to Meridian hospital where the child was delivered. She also confirmed the little child is a year old while the 9 years old boy is a maid the girl’s mother brought from the village.
Prince says Preliminary investigation shows that the boy may have been seeing daddy and mummy in the night doing romantic play the whole family stay in a one-room apartment.
Our source said that most times these children may be awake unknown to their parents. So parents staying in one room apartment have to be careful when engaging in romantic plays because sometimes these children may pretend to be asleep.
He said ‘’ mother of the baby girl, however, insisted that she will take her child to the meridian hospital where the child was delivered for fear of stigma”
Another Civil rights member, Kelly, However, advised parents to be discrete with their love life, adding that nothing should be done in front of kids.
‘’If at Nine years, the boy already knows what his penis is used for other than urinating, it is a serious matter. ‘’Or has he been seeing blue Movies? That boy needs help, so he will not grow up to become a rapist”.
The civil right society spokesman Wiro recommended psycho-social counselling for the nine-year-old boy before he becomes a social nuisance with extremely psychology issue.
