Influx of people due to presence of multi-nationals behind crime surge – Council Boss

The Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Council, Prince Solomon Abel Eke, on Tuesday, said the influx of people due to the presence of multinationals in the area is the reason for crime surge.

Eke also expressed passion for the provision of adequate security in the council area.

He made this known when the Area Commander Oyigbo Area Command of the Nigerian Police, Rivers State Command, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Rosemary Collins paid him a courtesy visit at the council Secretariat Rumuodomaya.

Prince Solomon Eke who described her visit as very important noted that it also shows her commitment to effectively police the area and expressed the readiness of the council to co-operate with the Oyigbo Area Command.

The Obio/Akpor council boss charged the Area Commander to rise up to the challenges of criminality in the area.

The Oyjgbo Area Commander, Rosemary Collins who spoke earlier, expressed readiness to discharge her duties effectively urging the council to promptly inform her of any incident for prompt action.

The Area Commander said that crime has drastically reduced within her area of command and thanked Governor Nyesom Wike for supporting the police in the State.
