The Bonny Local Government Council in Rivers State has installed Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras at Water Well Community to improve security and surveillance in the area.
The cameras have been positioned across the community, covering locations from Well One to Well 12, to enable closer monitoring of activities and help discourage criminal incidents.
The council chairman, Amasenibo Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, DSSRS, said the installation was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the security system across Bonny Local Government Area.
In a statement issued through the council’s Office of Media and Communications, the administration stressed that protecting lives and property requires the joint efforts of residents, security agencies, and government.

The council added that providing security infrastructure is an important responsibility of leadership and assured residents that measures would continue to be introduced to improve safety within the local government area.
The installation comes days after the death of Miss Queeneth Pepple, whose body was discovered at Water Well Community in the early hours of Friday, September 11, 2026.
The council said the new surveillance system would support security monitoring and provide useful information that could assist relevant authorities in responding to incidents.
Residents are expected to cooperate with security personnel and make use of available channels to report suspicious activities within the community.
