Manchester United came from behind to defeat Ipswich Town 5-2 at Old Trafford and secure their first Premier League win of the season, with Bruno Fernandes scoring a hat-trick.
Ipswich started confidently and threatened early, with both goalkeepers forced into action. The visitors eventually took the lead when Leif Davis finished at the back post after Abdul Fatawu created space down the wing and delivered into the box.
United responded before half-time when Marcelino Núñez slipped during an Ipswich attack, allowing the hosts to break forward. Matheus Cunha found Fernandes, who fired into the near corner to make it 1-1.
United came out strongly after the restart and took the lead through a fortunate own goal. Harry Maguire’s effort was deflected into the net by Jacob Greaves after the defender blocked the shot.

Greaves’ difficult afternoon continued when he brought down Cunha inside the penalty area. Fernandes stepped up and confidently converted the resulting penalty to make it 3-1.
The Portuguese midfielder completed his hat-trick shortly afterwards, tapping home after Ipswich goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen had denied several United efforts.
Fernandes then turned provider, setting up Bryan Mbeumo to chip Scherpen and make it 5-1. Ipswich grabbed a late consolation through Chuba Akpom, but United had already secured a comfortable victory.
The result ends United’s three-game winless run against promoted sides under Michael Carrick and marks their ninth win in 10 home matches since his appointment.
