Juventus secured a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Parma to maintain their perfect start to the Serie A season. The Bianconeri have now won their opening two league matches without conceding for a third consecutive campaign.
Looking to continue their reputation as fast starters, Juventus dominated possession early on against a Parma side eager to recover from their opening-day defeat to Cagliari. Douglas Luiz was heavily involved in the opening exchanges, registering two efforts off target before seeing a free-kick blocked by the wall.
Parma remained dangerous on the counter, with Christian Ordóñez coming close after his scuffed volley from close range narrowly missed the post. Juventus continued to apply the pressure, and Francisco Conceição went even closer when his left-footed effort clipped the post.
Despite spending much of the half on the defensive, Parma largely kept Juventus at bay. The Bianconeri managed just one shot on target before the interval, leaving the contest goalless at half-time.
The second half was a different story, with Juventus taking almost complete control. Debutant Jhon Lucumí missed a golden opportunity to open the scoring when he fired over from Jérémie Boga’s cross, while Jonathan David and Randal Kolo Muani also failed to make the most of promising openings.
Nico González then came within inches of breaking the deadlock, forcing Edoardo Corvi into an excellent save with a powerful left-footed volley.

The Argentine went even closer moments later, rattling the post with another thunderous strike before reacting quickest to the rebound and firing a deflected effort beyond Corvi to finally put Juventus ahead.
Parma nearly responded immediately through David Romero, but Guglielmo Vicario produced a superb save to keep out his header. Kolo Muani then had two chances to double Juventus’ advantage, only to see Corvi deny him in a one-on-one situation before he headed over from a corner.
Juventus were worthy of their lead but had a scare when Kerim Alajbegović’s clumsy challenge sent Mandela Keita tumbling inside the area. Parma’s penalty appeals were waved away, and their hopes of a comeback disappeared shortly afterwards.
Teun Koopmeiners had been on the pitch for less than two minutes after replacing the injured Andrea Cambiaso when he put the result beyond doubt, drilling a composed left-footed finish into the bottom corner.
It was not Juventus’ most convincing performance under Luciano Spalletti, but the result gives the Bianconeri six points from their opening two matches and another clean sheet. After finishing sixth last season, Juventus will hope this strong start can provide the foundation for a much-improved Serie A campaign.
For Parma, meanwhile, there were encouraging spells despite the defeat, but consecutive league losses to begin the season for the first time since 2020/21 leave Carlos Cuesta with plenty to address.
