The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPL) has reaffirmed that the 2025-26 season will end as scheduled, with the final round scheduled for May 24.
The Chief Operating Officer of the league, Davidson Owumi, defined that the calendar was transformed from the beginning into a carefully based one to steer clear of disruptions that had affected previous campaigns.
According to him, the league worked intensively with the Nigeria Football Association to create committed networks for the Union Cup, which ensured each tournament ran smoothly without any clashes
Owumi mentioned that this phase of planning helped the NPFL to stay on track, with performances as scheduled and minimal disruption all season he additionally mentioned the work of the clubs in stretching the timeline.
The league will pause briefly, however, as the groups head right into a two-week smash to tackle the NFF Presidents’ Association Cup.
With the finish line now in real sight, the focus will shift to the nerve-wracking very final stretch as clubs struggle for titles and continental places and survival before the season officially ends in May
