Nigeria national football team were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw against Jordan national football team in an international friendly played in Antalya, Turkey, on Tuesday night.
Jordan took the lead in the 17th minute through Musa Al-Taamari, putting the Super Eagles on the back foot early in the game.
Nigeria thought they had responded quickly when Raphael Onyedika found the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside.
The equaliser eventually came in the 26th minute, as Moses Simon reacted sharply inside the box to fire home after Ademola Lookman saw his effort blocked.
Nigeria went ahead just before the break when Emmanuel Fernandez, a defender from Rangers International FC, controlled a cross from Bright Osayi-Samuel and finished confidently to make it 2-1.
The Super Eagles started the second half strongly but failed to extend their lead.
A setback followed in the 57th minute when goalkeeper Francis Uzoho was forced off due to injury and replaced by Adebayo Adeleye.
Jordan capitalised late on, with Mohammad Al-Daoud scoring the equaliser 13 minutes from time to make it 2-2.
The match ended on a sour note for Nigeria as substitute Alex Iwobi was sent off for unsportsmanlike conduct late in the game.
Despite flashes of quality, the Super Eagles were left frustrated as they failed to hold on to their lead, settling for a draw in a game that exposed both promise and areas needing improvement.
