The Niger Delta Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Trade, Mines and Agriculture (NDCCITMA) has announced plans to host a major economic and investment summit aimed at attracting five billion dollars in investments and creating 500,000 jobs over the next five years.
Chairman of the NDCCITMA Board, Ambassador Idaere Ogan, disclosed in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He said the summit is designed to draw investors and boost economic growth across the Niger Delta region.
According to him, the event will feature President Bola Tinubu as Special Guest of Honour, while the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Amor Mottley, will deliver the keynote address. The summit is also expected to bring together investors, manufacturers, and business leaders to explore opportunities in the region.
Ambassador Ogan called on state governors and other stakeholders to support the initiative, noting that key focus areas will include the agricultural value chain, manufacturing, logistics, and the blue economy. He added that improved security and growing economic confidence in the region make it an attractive destination for both local and international investors.

He emphasized that ongoing economic reforms have created a favourable environment for investment, encouraging stakeholders from across the world to take advantage of emerging opportunities in the Niger Delta.
Also speaking, Chairman of the Summit Organising Committee, Dr. Solomon Edebiri, said the event will prioritise the growth of small and medium-scale enterprises. He noted that the summit will provide a platform for networking, business partnerships, and policy discussions.
Dr. Edebiri added that insights from a recent business roundtable highlighted untapped potential in the region, which the summit aims to unlock through targeted investments and collaborations.
He explained that the event will showcase viable projects, encourage business-to-business and business-to-government engagements, and promote innovation across sectors. He added that it is expected to deliver strong economic and social benefits to the region.
To create awareness ahead of the summit, NDCCITMA plans to organise roadshows across the Niger Delta, as well as in Lagos and Abuja.
