The Rivers State Police Command has launched an investigation following the discovery of the bodies of a man and a young girl, believed to be under 18, inside a Toyota Corolla in Mgboushimini community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
The command’s spokesperson, ASP Blessing Agabe, confirmed the incident in a text message, stating that an investigation had commenced to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths and determine their cause.
She, however, declined to provide further details.
Meanwhile, reports surrounding the incident indicate that the deceased man’s wife is pregnant and had allegedly confronted the young girl over a reported relationship with her husband.
It was also gathered that the couple had completed their traditional marriage rites and were preparing for their white wedding, reportedly scheduled for November 2026.
The circumstances surrounding the deaths remain unclear, as police continue their investigation.
