Nigerian music star Wizkid has reportedly become the first African artiste to surpass 12 billion streams on Spotify across all credits.
The milestone was announced on Monday by WizStatz, a music statistics account on X, which tracks streaming records and achievements associated with the singer.
“WIZKID (@wizkidayo) becomes the first African Artist to surpass 12 Billion Streams On Spotify Across All Credits,” the account posted.
The figure includes streams from Wizkid’s solo releases, collaborations and guest appearances on songs by other artistes, reflecting the reach of his music across different projects.
The achievement follows another milestone in May 2026, when Wizkid reportedly became the first African artiste to reach 11 billion Spotify streams across all credits.
The latest figure further highlights the Nigerian singer’s continued influence in the global music industry and the international growth of Afrobeats.
Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, rose to prominence with hits including Holla at Your Boy and has since built an extensive catalogue featuring successful solo projects and collaborations with international artistes.
His albums, including Made in Lagos, have helped expand his global audience, while songs such as Essence have introduced his music to listeners across multiple markets.
The 12 billion-stream milestone adds to Wizkid’s list of career achievements and underscores the growing international reach of Nigerian music.
