NOA Boss Named “Most Impactful Nigerian”

Lanre Issa-Onilu, the Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has been awarded the title of “Most Impactful Nigerian Patron of 2025” during the Nigeria Week London event, held at the Hippodrome Theatre in Golders Green on Saturday.

In a statement released on Sunday, the agency revealed that the event brought together key figures from across the Nigerian diaspora, including Nollywood celebrities, representatives from Film London, Middlesex University, and the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).

The Director-General of NOA, Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu, received the award in recognition of his visionary leadership, bold institutional reforms, and steadfast commitment to restoring civic consciousness both in Nigeria and among Nigerians abroad.

Delivering a keynote address titled “Nigeria Must Rise to Lift Africa,” Issa-Onilu called on Nigerians everywhere to embrace patriotism, civic responsibility, and national discipline. He emphasized that for Africa to progress, Nigeria must assume its role as a moral and leadership compass for the continent.

The NOA DG also introduced the National Values Charter (NVC) as the agency’s strategic framework for promoting national identity and unity. He highlighted two recent civic engagement innovations:

  • CLHEEAN (Civic Learning Hub for Empowerment, Engagement And Nationhood) – a platform for civic education and empowerment
  • The Mobiliser – a tool designed to activate grassroots participation in civic matters

Additionally, Issa-Onilu announced the upcoming launch of the CLHEEAN mobile app, which will be very pivotal for Nigerians.
