Ogoni youths have staged a peaceful protest in support of the Ogoni Dialogue Committee currently negotiating with the Federal Government over the possible resumption of oil production in Ogoniland.
The youths marched to the Kpor Police Station, Gokana Local Government Secretariat and the palace of the Gberemene, calling on those opposed to the dialogue to support the ongoing negotiations.

Speaking during the protest, President of the Ogoni National Youth Congress, Alema Gbere Kpakol, thanked President Bola Tinubu for what he described as his commitment to the development of Ogoniland.

Kpakol urged members of the Ogoni Dialogue Committee to remain focused on the negotiations and work towards an outcome that would advance the interests and development of the Ogoni people.
The protest comes amid ongoing discussions between representatives of Ogoniland and the Federal Government over the possibility of restarting oil production in the area.
