Nigerian rapper and singer Folarin Falana, widely known as Falz, has reiterated his position that fornication is not considered a sin in his faith.
This comes after the artist sparked widespread debate with a post on X (formerly Twitter), where he asserted that premarital sex is not sinful. His statement drew reactions from both Christian and Muslim followers, who countered his claim with references to religious scriptures.
During a recent interview with Arise TV, Falz stood by his remarks, explaining that his perspective is based on his personal belief system, which he described as the “religion of love.” He also clarified that he no longer identifies as a Christian.

“I think people would read the tweet and just assume that I meant according to Christianity. I wasn’t really speaking from that perspective. I practice the religion of love. Under that religion, I don’t think fornication is a sin,” he said.
Falz further questioned societal norms around premarital sex, asking: “Because I looked at it, I strictly addressed the issue: Why are we not allowed to engage in this premarital intercourse? What is the issue? Who does it offend? These are not married people. These are two unmarried people. Willingly. Consensually. Personally, I don’t think there is a problem there.”
The entertainer concluded by reaffirming his stance, stating, “I’m no longer a Christian. I practice religion of love.”
His comments continue to fuel discussions on morality, religion, and personal freedom in Nigeria’s conservative society.
