The University of Port Harcourt has decorated the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministry OPM Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere with a special award ”Crusader of Social Gospel” following his numerous contributions to the society.
The honour of Crusader of Social Gospel was given to the General Overseer of OPM Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere during the 2019 Conference Series at the Ebitimi Banigo Auditorium University of Port Harcourt.
The Vice-Chancellor of University of Port Harcourt Prof Ndowa Lake during the event said the award was in recognition of his service to humanity.
Prof Ndowa Lale also said that the institution wants to study and publish the numerous work of the General Overseer of OPM since its inception 13 years ago.
He stated that Nigerians need to document the history of their men of God and not foreigners.
The General Overseer of OPM Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere said his mission is to win many souls for God through preaching the gospel and helping the less privileged ones in society.
He said that the funds from his charity works come from the tithes and offerings of the ministry.
Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere noted that many souls are languishing because there is no shepherd to cater for the lost sheep.
He stated that Men of God should use the church funds to improve the welfare of members in other to alleviate their sufferings and also make the society a better place
The keynote speaker at the event and the Chief Medical Director of UPTH Prof Henry Ugboma said the general Overseer of OPM is a model for men of God across the globe.
He commended the General Overseer of OPM for his benevolence to the society and urged other Men of God to emulate him.
Henry Ugboma added that poverty will be eradicated in Nigeria when Men of God started behaving like Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere who is using church funds to cater for the needs of the less privileged ones.
