The Nigerian Army’s 6 Division Garrison and Sector 3 Task Force South-South Operation Delta Safe organised a free medical outreach in the Ogoloma community, Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State. The event, held in commemoration of the 2025 Army Day Celebration, provided medical services to over 2,000 residents in the community.
Brigadier General Sani Ahmed, Commander of 6 Division Garrison/Sector 3 Task Force, represented by Lieutenant Commander Orobosa Igheghe, emphasized that the Army’s role extends beyond warfare to supporting the needs of the people and promoting peace and that the medical outreach is a testament to this commitment, offering essential healthcare services to the community.
He said, “This event simplifies our unwavering commitment to serving the nation, our community and embodying the core value of discipline, integrity and service to humanity. We recognise the importance of reciprocating the support of the communities that enable us to fulfil our constitutional mandate. This medical outreach is a tangible manifestation of our pledge to positively impact the lives of those around us”.

The Royal Majesty of the Ogoloma Kingdom, King Emmanuel Tamunoigbeibia Obudibo, expressed his appreciation for the medical outreach, noting that it was the first time the community had experienced such an initiative. He highlighted that the event demonstrates the Army’s dedication to the well-being of the people, beyond just security.
Beneficiaries of the outreach expressed their gratitude to the Army for providing free medicines and glasses that many couldn’t afford.
The medical outreach included various services such as malaria tests, eye test,s sugar level checks, HIV screening, hepatitis B and C tests, free consultations and distribution of medications
The event strengthens the bond between the military and the community, showcasing the Army’s commitment to civil-military cooperation and national development.
