Jubilation as kidnappers freed 10 captives in Ahoada

jubilation erupted on Sunday following the release of some victims who were abducted last week by unknown gunmen in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State.
It was reported that the hoodlums abducted 10 persons, including four children in Isua, Join Karama community in Ahoada West Local Government Area of the state.
The women were said to have gone to their farms to harvest their crops to avoid losing them to the looming heavy rainfall and floods.
The spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko who also confirmed the incident said: “Efforts were on to ensure the release of the women and children.
She said, “as you know, the command is not sleeping. We are after the kidnappers. As we speak, the Commissioner of Police has deployed the tactical team to ensure the hoodlums are arrested and made to face the law for their actions.”
Confirming their release to our correspondent, the secretary of the community where the victims hail from, Wisdom Owolo appreciated God for the release of the victims.
“Right now, jubilation is on in my community over the release of those who were abducted last week by some unknown gunmen. We give God all the glory,” he said.
Unconfirmed report also has it that the victims were released after a ransom of N400,000 was paid to the abductors.
