No fewer than three youths were shot dead in the Ahoada axis of Rivers State, hours after the burial of the campaign director general of Tonye Cole for the March 18 governorship poll, Chiosom Lennard.
Chiosom Lennard who was buried last Saturday was shot and killed by political thugs on the day of the governorship election in the state.
It was gathered that some assailants went round Ahoada West and East in a Camry car looking for their targets to kill.
Confirming the killing of the youths to our correspondent, the Public Relations Officer of Igbu Akoh Youth Congress in Ahoada, Comrade Ekeakita Hector Chinem said the victims were killed at different locations.
He said, “John Ede from Ahoada main town was going to a club called White House and unknown to him that a Camry car was trailing him. His killers in the car shot him dead.
“The car drove towards a road leading to YKC junction in Ihuike Community in Upata Kingdom in Ahoada East where the shooters saw two boys: Ogboka from Ogbele Community and Azinibudu Peter from Ogbologbolo Community.
“The two boys were shot dead by the same shooters in the Camry car that killed John Ede.”
Though the reason for the killing spree is still sketchy as of the time of filing this report.
However, it is now in the public domain that since the 2023 general elections, Ahoada West in particular has not known peace. The killing in the area has been one too many.
