Court remands man for defiling physically challenged minor in Rivers

A Magistrate Court sitting in Port Harcourt has remanded one Victor Obilor at the Nigerian Correctional Center, Port Harcourt on a charge bothering on defilement of a minor.

The 60-years-old man is accused of defiling a 12 years old physically challenged girl in her parent’s apartment in Ubima Community, Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state.

The Father of the victim had demanded the immediate prosecution of the suspect for defiling his physically challenged daughter.

The man, Eze Eleonu, said he caught Obilor pants down with his physically challenged daughter who, according to him, has speech and hearing impairment.

He had told newsmen that the suspect on Saturday, March 5, 2022, defiled his daughter while he was out of his house in Ubima community.

When the case was mentioned in court, the Chief Magistrate, Kobani-Buzugbe declined jurisdiction to hear the case and directed that the case file be sent to the Department of Public Prosecution for advice, adjourning the matter to 23rd May 2022 for legal advice.
