Bill for establishment of national oil and gas institute Bayelsa passes 2nd reading

A Bill for an Act to establish the National Oil and Gas Museum-Institute in Bayelsa State sponsored by House of Reps member representing Ogbia federal constituency, Hon. Obua Azibapu Fred has passed through 1st and 2nd Reading on the floor of the house.

The bill has also been transmitted to the House Committee on oil and gas for further Legislative actions.

Chief Timipre Sylva, the minister of petroleum, later met with the Bayelsa State Caucus of the House of Representatives on how the bill will roll in synergy on both the Executive Arm of Government and the Legislative Arm of Government.

Sylva said the leadership in the state will work together for a successful implementation of the bill when all the necessary Legislative framework has been finalized.
