The Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Professor Chike Princewill, has charged members of the University community to embrace transparency, accountability and integrity in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The Vice Chancellor gave the charge on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, while receiving a delegation from the Rivers and Bayelsa State Office of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), led by Resident Anti Corruption Commissioner Dr. Ekere Usiere, on a courtesy visit.

The ICPC team congratulated Professor Princewill on his appointment as Vice Chancellor and expressed its desire to build stronger and more effective relationships with staff and students of the University in the interest of promoting ethical conduct.
In his response, Professor Princewill thanked the delegation for identifying with his administration, noting that the principles of transparency and accountability would remain important in the governance of the University.
He urged staff and students to reject corrupt practices and conduct themselves responsibly, stressing that the collective commitment of the University community is essential to building a system founded on integrity, trust and accountability.
