Herdsmen attack is divine punishment on the church –Rivers clergy

By Kelechi Esogwa-Amadi

This startling revelation was made by Rev. Livingstone Amadi, a Ghana-based missionary who hails from Rivers State.

Speaking as a guest preacher during a special prayer programme at Christ Jesus Link Gospel Publishers Church, Marine Base, Port Harcourt within the week, Rev. Livingstone Amadi lamented that church leaders in Nigeria had moved away from the truth of the gospel in a bid to acquire wealth and satisfy their selfish desires.

He said because the true teaching of Jesus Christ had been abandoned, God’s anger had been kindled on the church, paving way for all manner of calamities to befall Christians.

“Pastors are no longer preaching the truth. They are only after material things –what they can acquire for themselves. That is the truth, although they may not like to hear it. God is very angry, that’s why you see all these killings going on: herdsmen killing Christians every day; Boko Haram and so many other things happening. Let me tell you: God is not happy with men of God. That’s why he allows all these attacks. Many men of God have sold their birthrights to politicians,” he said.

The missionary revealed that God was looking for people like Moses who could stand in the gap and plead for his people, adding that Nigeria needed such intercession.

He said: “God repented when Moses went on his knees and prayed and agonized for his people. God is looking for people like Moses in our land, men who will pray for the land.

“When God wanted to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, Abraham pleaded. Unfortunately, God didn’t find up to five people who were righteous; so he went ahead and destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. Believers in Nigeria have failed God. God has no business with unbelievers. He’s not looking for many people; he does not need majority to work with. If he sees one person who is ready, he will use him,” he said.
