The Rivers State Ministry of Education has called on schools and offices across the state to strengthen measures to prevent the spread of Ebola.
The ministry appealed in a public health awareness message, urging students, teachers and workers to maintain good hygiene and report suspected illnesses promptly.
It listed symptoms of Ebola to include fever, weakness, headache, body pains, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain, skin rash and unexplained bleeding or bruising.
The ministry explained that symptoms could develop between two and 21 days after exposure to the virus, advising the public not to delay seeking medical attention until bleeding occurs.
