Dr. Vetty Agala, the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP), has called on staff members of the agency to collaborate in plugging existing loopholes and delivering quality, affordable healthcare services to residents of Rivers State.
Agala made the call Thursday during the third day of the agency’s leadership training in Port Harcourt, saying that collaboration and input from all staff members are necessary for the realization of the vision of the organization.
The Executive Secretary enjoined the participants to freely speak out about the challenges they face in their daily activities, stating that no organization operates without challenges and that giving an honest account of one’s problems is very important in the growth of organizations.

According to her, the leadership training was organized to objectively identify operational challenges within the organization, point out weaknesses and come up with concrete measures to make the agency more effective.
Describing the agency as a progressive organization always willing to make improvements and develop its workforce, the RIVCHPP boss assured all staff members that the management will always be ready to help all those interested in becoming better.
She also stressed that each and every employee is very important for the success of the organization, noting that individual contributions add up and determine how effective RIVCHPP’s health care programs will be.
The leadership training exercise commenced on Tuesday for the management team of the agency, was followed by the unit heads on Wednesday, and was completed on Thursday for the other members of staff.
