Vice President Kashim Shettima on Thursday arrived in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to commission the newly reconstructed 33.5-kilometre Elele-Egbeda-Omoku Dual Carriageway.
TPCN reports that Shettima was received at the Port Harcourt International Airport by Governor Siminalayi Fubara, former Deputy Governor Tele Ikuru, Senator John Mbata, Chief Oris Onyiri, Dr Sam Sam Jaja and other government officials.
Earlier, Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Dagogo Wokoma, described the road as evidence of Governor Fubara’s commitment to addressing the developmental needs of residents.

Wokoma said the dual carriageway was among the major road projects delivered by the administration to improve connectivity, ease transportation and boost economic activities across the state.
The 33.5-kilometre road connects communities along the Elele, Egbeda and Omoku axis and is expected to facilitate the movement of people and goods while strengthening economic activities in the area.
The commissioning forms part of the Fubara administration’s infrastructure development efforts aimed at opening up communities and improving the state’s road network.
