The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has reaffirmed that the Nigerian Oil and Gas Park Scheme (NOGaPS) at Emeyal-1 in Ogbia Local Government Area will become operational by the fourth quarter of 2026.
To meet this timeline, the Board is installing a 2.5-megawatt Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) power plant to deliver reliable electricity for industrial operations.
This was disclosed after a recent assessment visit by senior NCDMB officials, which confirmed strong progress on key infrastructure.
Dr. Obinna Ezeobi, General Manager of Corporate Communications, assured stakeholders of the Board’s commitment to timely delivery. Manager of Strategy and Transformation Projects, Mr. Olubisi Okunola, highlighted completed facilities including manufacturing shop floors, a functional water treatment plant, accommodation blocks, classrooms, an amphitheater, and guest residences.
Additional power infrastructure such as switchgear buildings, transformers, and heavy-duty generators are also ready.
A contract has been awarded for sand-filling of ponds to enable construction of six new manufacturing sheds for investors.
Landscaping and maintenance works are ongoing to keep the facility in optimal condition.
When fully operational, the park is expected to create over 2,000 jobs, boost local manufacturing of oil and gas components, reduce import dependence, and drive economic growth in the region.
NCDMB said all essential utilities are being prioritised to ensure seamless commencement of activities.
