Rotimi Amaechi, former Rivers State governor and former Minister of Transportation, has submitted his presidential nomination form under the African Democratic Congress ahead of the party’s primaries for the 2027 general elections.
Amaechi disclosed the development in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Thursday, where he confirmed that he had officially entered the race for the party’s presidential ticket.
In the post, he said his ambition is driven by a desire to “salvage” Nigeria and restore dignity, unity and progress in the country.
“Today, I submitted my Presidential nomination forms at the ADC Secretariat, officially throwing my hat in the ring to salvage our country, Nigeria,” he wrote.
He added that his mission is to rebuild trust in governance and reposition Nigeria for global respect.
“The mission is clear, we will fight to restore dignity to Nigerians, make our country great and respected in the comity of nations, and bring unity, peace, prosperity and progress to our people,” Amaechi stated.
The submission of the nomination form signals the formal entry of the former minister into the 2027 presidential contest under the ADC platform, as political activities continue to build momentum ahead of party primaries across the country.
