A significant step towards ensuring improved policing in Bayelsa State has been taken by the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, with the commissioning of work on the permanent administrative office for the Zone 16 Command of the Nigeria Police Force.
Among several plans for the improvement of policing and security operations in the state, the new structure is expected to make considerable impacts on service delivery.
This was made known in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Zone 16 Command, Superintendence of Police, Gunn Ewhoborwo Emonena, and stated that the decision to construct the headquarters follows the acquisition of land for the command by the Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri.

At the ceremony, the Executive Secretary spoke about the intentions of the trust fund to build more capacity in the Nigeria Police Force through strategic construction projects.
Sheidu went on to state that apart from creating an enabling environment for the officers, the establishment of a permanent base for Zone 16 would also contribute to effective coordination and timely responses to security issues faced by the state and the Niger Delta area as a whole.
Khafadez Resources Ltd, which is in charge of the project, received the official handing over of the construction site. It was also guaranteed that the project would be completed according to set standards.
