NUJ Wades in to Resolve Lingering Crisis in Pman Rivers State Chapter

The Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ Rivers State Council says it is committed to working with the new caretaker committee of the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria PMAN Rivers State Chapter to ensure the lingering crisis in the union is fully resolved.

Chairman of NUJ Rivers State Council, Paul Bazia- Nsaneh stated this when he hosted members of the state executive council of PMAN Rivers State led by the Administrator Mercy Reginald-Otuene ( Sista Mercie), accompanied by executives of PMAN elders’ council at the Ernest Ikoli Press center, Port Harcourt.

Paul Bazia -Nsaneh stressed the need for unity amongst entertainers in the state so as to collectively harness the opportunities available in the tourism sector of the state provided for by the Rivers State Government, saying the lingering division in the union would only lead to missed opportunities.

On her part, leader of the delegation and administrator of PMAN Rivers State Chapter, Sista Mercie said the courtesy visit was aimed at fostering partnership with NUJ Rivers State Council, so as to leverage each other’s strength for the collective good of both unions.

While assuring that the rights and welfare of all entertainers in the state is the top priority of her administration, Sista Mercie promised to bring together all members and urged all entertainers in the state to come onboard to help the organization move forward.

Also speaking, chairman of the Rivers State PMAN Elders’ Council, Chief Geoffrey Wopara Elewa expressed commitment to bring all aggreived parties on a round table to proffer a lasting peace amongst members of the union.
