The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has recently unveiled a new digital platform designed to streamline its drug integrity test and visa clearance processes for Nigerians at home and abroad.
Launching the system in Abuja, NDLEA Chairman, retired Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa, said the digital portal, the Drug Integrity Test and Visa E-Administration System (DITViCAS) marks a major step toward improving transparency, efficiency and accessibility in the agency’s operations.

He added that the platform would eliminate delays, reduce human interference and curb certificate forgery in drug testing and visa clearance procedures.
Marwa, represented by NDLEA Secretary Shadrach Haruna, noted that the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda and reinforces the agency’s two-pronged strategy of drug supply reduction and drug demand reduction.
He explained that applicants would now be able to apply online, pick preferred test locations, book appointments and receive results without enduring long waits at NDLEA offices.
According to him, the digital system also allows private medical facilities to serve as accredited centres for drug integrity tests, while issuing drug test certificates instantly and completing visa clearance verification within three to seven days.
He added that the automation will strengthen background checks and protect Nigeria’s global reputation from drug-related criminal networks.
Marwa stressed that the drug integrity initiative is preventive rather than punitive, offering early intervention and counselling for users who test positive.
The secretary urged institutions, organisations and the public to embrace the portal as part of a collective effort to combat drug abuse and build safer communities across Nigeria.
