A woman identified as Esther has appealed for justice after her younger brother was allegedly stabbed in the neck during a dispute over a ₦500 cash transfer.
According to Esther, her brother was on his way to his destination when he stopped at a roadside point where an Aboki, a term commonly used in Nigeria for Hausa traders, was offering cash withdrawal services.
She alleged that her brother, who needed cash to pay a motorcycle operator, transferred ₦500 to the trader’s account in exchange for cash.
However, trouble reportedly started after the trader demanded an additional ₦100 charge for the transaction.
Esther said her brother did not have the extra ₦100, after which the trader allegedly picked up a pair of scissors and stabbed him in the neck.

She said her brother was rushed to several hospitals for treatment but was allegedly rejected before eventually bleeding to death.
Esther, who described the incident as devastating to her family, said the suspected attacker has reportedly fled and has not been located.
She disclosed that the matter had been reported at the Police Station, urging the authorities to intensify efforts to apprehend the suspect and ensure that justice is served.
“My brother was killed because of ₦500. I don’t want this to become another regular Nigerian story that is forgotten,” Esther said.
She appealed to the police and relevant authorities not to allow the case to be swept under the carpet, insisting that her family wants justice for her late brother.
Esther also recalled that shortly before his death, her brother had sent her his WAEC result, which he had made all his papers, describing it as something she viewed as a blessing that came shortly before his death.
She called on members of the public with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to assist the authorities in bringing him to justice.
