‎Babajide Made First AS Roma debut in Serie A Cup Fixture

‎‎Nigerian sensation Omorinsola Babajide of the Super Falcons has officially made her debut for AS Roma Femminile. The 27-year-old forward will continue her football career this season with one of Italy’s leading women’s teams.‎‎

Babajide transferred to AS Roma from Costa Adeje Tenerife following a successful period in Spain. She made her debut for AS Roma against Ternana in a Serie A Cup match just before the new season commenced.‎‎ The Nigerian forward started on the bench and observed as Alayah Pilgrim scored twice and Alice Corelli added another goal, giving AS Roma a 3-1 advantage at halftime.‎‎

In the 57th minute of the second half, Annalena Rieke scored a fourth goal for AS Roma, solidifying their control of the match.‎‎Babajide entered the game in the 75th minute, replacing Corelli, as AS Roma ultimately triumphed with a 4-2 win, progressing to the next round.‎‎

She took to social media to commemorate her debut, having played for 15 minutes in a victory while donning their away kit.‎‎ The former Liverpool forward, born in England but who chose to represent Nigeria, has now played in the WSL, Spain, and now Italy.

‎‎Babajide aspires to leave her mark at AS Roma after contributing to Nigeria’s 3-2 comeback win against Morocco in the 2025 WAFCON final, earning a gold medal.
