Rivers state council of the Nigeria union of journalists says arrangements are in top gear towards hosting the union’s Zonal Executive Council meeting in Port Harcourt.
This was contained in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the council comrade Paul Bazia -Nsaneh and and the secretary Dr Ijeoma Tubosia.
It added that, based on the constitutional provisions, the Zonal meeting will be held between Wednesday 20th to Friday the 22nd August, 2025.
According to the statement, participants for the gathering will come from the six states of the South South geopolitical Zone.
The guests are expected to arrive on Wednesday 20th of this month barring any hitch. Other activities on Wednesday include a courtesy visit to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, Dr Honour Sirawoo.

On Thursday 21st August, media/facility tour to Hyprep, Zonal meeting (Technical) and Dinner. The participants are expected to depart on Friday the 22nd of this month.
The statement hence appreciate the support and cooperation of State government and the Permanent Secretary towards making the hosting right a reality.
It moreover prayed to God Almighty a safe trip to the various attendants as well as fruitful deliberations during the meeting .
