Following recent advisory from the Federal Government identifying States in the Federation as high-risk areas for potential flooding this year, Rivers State Government has warned residents, especially those in flood-prone communities, to take necessary precautions to safeguard lives and property.
In a statement by the Senior Special Adviser on Media to Rivers State Government, Hector Igbikiowubo in response to the warning stated that the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, is deploying teams to Rivers State and other at-risk regions to sensitize residents on flood preparedness and mitigation measures.
