Valencia and Celta Vigo began their LaLiga campaigns with a disappointing 0-0 draw at the Mestalla Stadium, with Los Che extending their poor record against Celta to just one win in their last eight meetings (D3, L4).
Both sides struggled to create clear chances in a slow first half. The first real opportunity came in the 42nd minute when Stole Dimitrievski produced an excellent save to tip Javi Rodríguez’s powerful effort from the edge of the box over the crossbar.
The second half followed the same pattern, with neither team showing enough intensity to break the deadlock.

With no shots on target recorded by the 70th minute, both managers turned to their benches, with Celta making four substitutions and Valencia making three.
The changes briefly lifted the tempo. Arnaut Danjuma broke through on goal but was pressured into shooting over by a determined recovery from Marcos Alonso. Alonso later had a chance to win it for Celta but dragged his effort wide as the game ended without a goal.
The result means Valencia have now failed to win their opening league match for a third consecutive season. They return to action in three days against Betis, while Celta host Osasuna in their rearranged fixture.
