The Rivers State Police Command has clarified a social media post claiming an attempted kidnapping of a lady by four people dressed as market ladies in a tricycle at Woji Bridge in the state.
In a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Police Command, Blessing Kaborlo, the Command said they swiftly carried out investigations after receiving the voice note and photograph posted on social media platforms.
They further said that checks with Divisional Police Officers, heads of departments and formations in the state have revealed that no such report was made to any law enforcement agency in the state.

They added that attempts to contact the owner of the voice note have proven futile, while initial analysis of the photograph has shown that it was AI-generated.
The Police advised that the photograph should not be regarded as credible evidence as an investigation into those behind the fabrication of the material has been launched.
The Command assured that those culpable would be charged to court under Section 24 of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Act 2015.
Police assured citizens that the State is safe and secure. They called on the citizenry to confirm any security news before posting it anywhere.
