The Port Harcourt club travelled to Aba aiming to secure maximum points and close the gap on league leaders Enugu Rangers but had to settle for a share of the spoils after failing to find the back of the net.

Ifeanyi Okechukwu gave the defending champions the lead seven minutes before half-time, but Barau fought back in the second half, with Joseph Atule and Aliyu Sugau converting penalties to put the hosts ahead. Chidiebere Nwobodo, however, rescued a point for Rangers with a stoppage-time equaliser.
Elsewhere, Nasarawa United recorded a 2-0 victory over Doma United in Lafia, with Sunday Dapman and Jofrank Istifanus getting the goals.
Sporting Lagos defeated Bendel Insurance 2-1 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan. Victor Samuel opened the scoring before Kayode Oke equalised for Bendel Insurance, but Gafar Olaniyan struck in the 22nd minute to secure the win.
Plateau United also recorded an emphatic 4-0 victory over Kano Pillars at the New Jos Stadium, ending the visitors’ unbeaten run. Paul Samson, Ekundayo Ojo, Samuel Ayanrinde and Nenrot Silas were all on target.
