Seven months after President Bola Tinubu brokered peace between Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, the former governor has vowed to reveal details of the agreement reached.
Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), made this known during a “thank-you visit” to Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The Port City News (TCPN) reported in June 2025 that Tinubu held a closed-door meeting with Fubara, Wike, and some lawmakers from the state, during which he brokered peace that ended the prolonged political crisis involving the duo and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
However, Wike alleged that Governor Fubara had reneged on the agreement and vowed to make its contents public.
“Very soon, we will let people know what we agreed on before Mr President,” Wike said.
He also advised residents of Tai Local Government Area against working with or associating with individuals who could not keep their promises in the name of politics, stressing that such people should not be trusted.

Wike further declared that Rivers State residents were prepared for the 2027 general elections, insisting that money would not determine electoral outcomes in the state. According to him, the will of the people would prevail.
“It was a tough battle in 2023. You took a risk, worked with us, and God gave us victory. See what that risk has resulted in—a federal university sited in Tai and many other benefits,” he said.
Wike’s comments came days after he criticised Governor Fubara over claims that he was the number one figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State.
