Liverpool Football Club (LFC) head coach Arne Slot has been named the 2024/2025 Barclays Premier League Manager of the Season, edging out six rivals for the prestigious title.
The Premier League announced the result via its official social media channels on Wednesday, revealing that Slot emerged ahead of Nuno Espírito Santo (Nottingham Forest), Eddie Howe (Newcastle United), Unai Emery (Aston Villa), David Moyes (Everton), Thomas Frank (Brentford), and Vítor Pereira (Wolverhampton Wanderers). The announcement followed the conclusion of the voting process on Tuesday night.
Slot, who joined Liverpool from Feyenoord, led the Reds to the Premier League title in his debut campaign and also oversaw strong performances in both the Champions League and domestic cup competitions.
The Dutchman, who claimed 59.3% of the vote became only the fifth manager in Premier League history to win the title in his first season in English football, joining Antonio Conte, Carlo Ancelotti, Manuel Pellegrini, and José Mourinho.
Slot also received the League Managers Association’s (LMA) Manager of the Year award. However, he opted not to attend the award ceremony as a mark of respect for those affected by a tragic incident during Liverpool’s trophy parade on Monday.

More than 50 individuals were hospitalised, with 11 still receiving medical care, after a vehicle drove into a crowd on Water Street in the city centre.
During his press conference, Slot said: “As you will know, a shocking incident took place in Liverpool yesterday, one that left dozens of men, women and children who had attended our parade injured, and as a result I have had to withdraw from the event out of solidarity with all affected. This is not a decision I have taken lightly but it is one that I feel is absolutely right given the seriousness of the situation. I hope that I have your understanding in this regard”.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the wider football community, including the LMA itself, the Premier League and many clubs who will be represented tonight, for the support we have received over the last 24 hours. Football is and always should be a game built on rivalry, but it is also a great source of comradeship, especially at times like this.”

Slot said he felt humbled to win two manager awards of the Season. He expressed his appreciation to Barclays and the Premier League awards panel for selecting him.
“It goes without saying that I am also really proud to be a member of the League Managers Association and therefore I am truly honoured to be awarded the Sir Alex Ferguson Trophy for the LMA Manager of the Year. To be voted for by your managerial peers is so special, especially as I know the unbelievable quality of those who have won this award previously.
“Sir Alex, I look forward to meeting with you at a later date to receive my trophy from you. I also look forward to attending my first LMA Annual Awards dinner on a future occasion. Thank you once again for your understanding and your support”, said the 46-year-old.
Earlier, The Port City News reported that Liverpool right-winger Mohamed Salah won Player of the Season, while the club’s midfielder, Ryan Gravenberch was named Young Player of the Season.
