As the rich deposit of crude oil in Egbolom Community of Abua/Odual Local Government Area of Rivers State continues to attract multinational oil companies to the area, the leadership of the community has advised their indigenes, especially the youths, to remain law-abiding.

It would be recalled that two oil companies – Sterling Global and Ingential Energy – would soon commence oil exploration and production in the community.

Speaking with newsmen on Saturday shortly after the coronation of their chief, Kenoye Obinoma Robert III, by the king of Abua, His Majesty King Kaleh O.M. Obuge, the CDC chairman of Egbolom Community, Rufus Goodluck, said the coming of the oil companies would usher in development.

He assured that indigenes of the community, especially the youths, would be carried along in terms of sharing of dividends.

“There is development in the community. With the advance of companies that are coming into the community, we believe that there will be development in the community.

“I advise the youths to be humble, obedient and submissive to the community so that whatever that comes, the community can share to them,” he said.
The CDC chairman advised the new chief, Kenoye Obinoma Robert III, to be focused and uphold good governance in his new task.

Earlier, the King of the Clan, HRH Hon. Iginighiom Ishmael Sunday, said there is plan for the oil companies to train some indigenes of the community on scholarship, adding that there would also be a lot of employment opportunities for their people soon.
