Heading Eleme is huge work – King Obele

The newly installed King of Eleme, HRM Dr Philip Osaro Obele JP, the Oneh-Eh Eleme XI has thanked the people of Eleme for the overwhelming support they gave to him during the processes that led to his selection and installation as the Oneh-Eh Eleme XI on Wednesday, 10th July 2019.

Speaking at his inaugural meeting with Eleme Council of Chiefs and Land Priests at his Palace on Monday, HRM Obele, said with such support his confidence is well boosted to carry on with the task and demands of the office of Oneh-Eh Eleme.

He particularly thanked Heads of the 10 Clans of Eleme, who he said stepped down for him and offered him their individual and collective support to be the Oneh-Eh Eleme.

He praised the Selection Committee headed by HRH Tekara Akobe for the smooth and peaceful way they carried out the selection process. “They arranged the entire process in such a manner that there was no bloodshed. God himself will bless you,” he prayed.

The Eleme Monarch also thanked all the land priests from the 10 Clans of Eleme who followed through with all the procedures and ensured that nothing went wrong with the process.

He promised to run an all-inclusive system where everyone will have a role to play. “I will not just be the head. All our people with education and experience will and we will work together,” he said.

He also said, “The work of heading Eleme is huge. I will not carry this load alone. This load you have given to me is enormous. All of us will carry it together. Do not stay far away from me. Advise me. I will listen to your advice.

“We should all be ready to go to work for Eleme. Eleme has a lot of branches where we all can be useful. It is all of us that will do it,” he added.

HRM Obele said he shall call an expanded meeting at a later date where policy statements shall be decided. “We shall and decide what we shall do together,” he said.
